Centrepointe Childcare Services is a non-profit community agency which was established by Nepean Housing and the Ministry of Community and Social Services in 1991. The neighborhood hub model is to provide "one stop shopping" for childcare services to a growing community of young families. The building at 75 Hemmingwood Way houses the Childcare centre, the Home Childcare Program and the Early Childhood Resource Centre with Drop-In, Toy Library and a Co-operative Nursery School.
The corporation is managed by a voluntary Board of Directors. This is a policy board. The board is comprised of nine members, three representatives (one from each of the programs) and six community members. The search for board members is an on going activity. Various skills are sought after, such as financial, legal, human resources, secretarial, entrepreneurial and advocacy. The term of office is one year, renewable up to a maximum of 3 years in any one position.
