Fall 2008
What's New?
This funding year we have come up against some financial challenges which will impact on the programs that we will be offering.
The Week-End Drop-In Program will be ending at the beginning of December. But we will be offering Saturday Drop-In and Toy Library in the new year starting January 10, 2009.
The weekly Drop-In , Toy Library and Parenting Workshops in the evening will continue as in the past.
Toy Library "Tools of Child's Work"
Toy Library Inventory was held on August 25th and 26th. Thank you to the following volunteers for their assistance:
Aysa C. Hong G, Iyotni J., Karen W., Kelly C., Nancy K., Rachel T., Sylvia P., and Tracy L.. The slogan "Many hands make light work" has really proven itself. The results of the inventory will be posted in a couple of weeks in the library.
In March 2008 we passed out a Satisfaction Survey for the Toy Library the results are now available. Over all the satisfaction level is good, with a few areas of concern such as variety and the quality of the toys for the 4 and 5 year old children.
As you know our funding is very limited . We are currently looking at proposal writing for further funds for toy replacement and new toys. As always , it takes more time than we would like.
In the mean time , we did receive some funds from the Counseling Foundation for toy replacement. We also received quiet a few donated toys which are included in the list.

Drop-In Program Themes:
In the Drop-In we have themes that we follow on a monthly basis. Some change is good for us all. We find that when the toys are changed on a regular basis, there tends to be more interesting play going on. If you have any activities that you would like to share with us, please let us know so that we may incorporate them.
