Group Care Program Philosophy
Centrepointe Childcare Centre provides childcare for children between ages of eighteen months
and five years, including children with special needs, in safe, nurturing and stimulating
environments provided in each of our toddler and preschool programs.
The goal of each program is to provide a positive learning experience for children that enhances
each child's level of development by providing age appropriate activities, meeting individual
needs and fostering a positive self-image.
The centre is open year round from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday to Friday, except for
statutory holidays. Our daily schedule includes large and small group activities, structured
learning times and free play periods, indoor and outdoor play time, field trips, regular meal times
and a daily rest period. Throughout the day, a positive approach to behavior management is used
to redirect negative behavior and assist each child in expressing feelings in a socially acceptable
way.
A substantial, nutritious lunch and a morning and afternoon snack are prepared in our kitchen by
a qualified cook. Special dietary restrictions and allergies can usually be accommodated.
The experienced teaching staff are graduates of an early childhood education program and hold
current certificates in first aid and CPR. The teachers work cooperatively with parents to foster
the growth and development of the children.
